Afternoon Tea at Spring Tea Garden in Fullerton, CA

Some of the girls and I wanted to do an afternoon tea. Our initial thoughts were Morning Lavender, but they are typically booked out months in advance as soon as availability opens. Since we had specific dates to meet up, we looked for another location. Our friend Emily found and reserved a high tea service at Spring Tea Garden in Fullerton. The tea room is located in the historic Spring Field Banquet Center in the heart of Downtown Fullerton. Reservation can be made Thursday - Sunday 10am - 4pm. So is there a difference between an afternoon tea and high tea - in short yes there is and it’s the amount of food that is served. Afternoon tea is usually enjoyed on lower seating, with the tiers display that includes scones with cream & jam, tea/finger sandwiches, and bite sized desserts along with tea of course. A high tea will include more substantial dishes, sat at a regular table with high back chairs, and historically practiced by England’s working class.

The service available here has afternoon and high tea options, so there are additional food items from the usual tiered foods like scones, finger sandwiches, and desserts available. What we did was order two “Spring Tea”s and two “Garden Tea”s so that we’d have two tiers and salads and fruit along with in total 4 pots of tea - you can see the entire menu here. We dined on a weekday afternoon, and it was really quiet in the tearoom, just one other party - so that was nice for us to be able to catch up and enjoy your afternoon tea selection. There space also can be rented for events like bridal and baby showers - check out the packages and details here. A wonderful place for friends to gather or for larger celebrations!
