Styling a Slip Dress for Date Night - Catherine Gee Emma Dress
Scott and I last minute planned a less than 24 hour trip to Downtown San Diego with Lucky for our 5 year wedding anniversary. We had a dinner reservation to celebrate, and I didn’t want to buy a new dress or outfit, so I pulled out this silk slip dress from Catherine Gee. There’s a black silk slip skirt that I absolutely love from this designer as well.
I kept the look simple with faux suede pointed heels (that have an acrylic heel) from Zara, a matching baguette bag from Hammitt LA, and through on my Calvin Klein boxy denim shirt jacket in case I got cold. This Catherine Gee emma slip dress is in the color Bronze, which I typically don’t wear color, but I think this color complements my skin tone very well. The back deatures a ruffle detail, and the straps are dinty, but perhaps too dainty as stitching on one side popped off since I was trying to tie up the dress so my front side was covered. I was sent a size small, but I’m figuring an XS would have been a better fit. The Emma Slip dress is also available in a variety of colors like Silver, Mykonos Blue, Cannes Blue, and prints.
