Strawberry Picking in Orange County at South Coast Farms - San Juan Capistrano
I wanted to share this fun activity that I did at end of last month - strawberry picking from a u-pick farm! I’ve always wanted to go berry picking, so this was absolutely delightful, especially since South Coast Farms is located down the street from us. We were able to go on Memorial Day since they were operating that day and we made sure to get there in the morning before their picking hours started so we could beat the crowd and not have to deal with the heat. When we first arrived, there was only one other family there, by the time we left about 45 minutes later, there were about 7-8 families there, still there was plenty of room for guests to be able to space out and pick strawberries.
It’s $5 per car and $5 per pound for what you pick. We probably spent 30 minutes or so going up and down a few rows of strawberries to fill up 3 baskets (which came out to about $15). The strawberry picking season will last for as long as there are strawberries, so it just depends, but usually will last through the summer.
