Beijing Noodle House 同顺面馆 in Lake Forest, CA

Scott and I were craving dumplings one weekend, and didn’t want to wait for soup dumplings so we decided to look for a new restaurant to try. We stumbled upon Beijing Noodle House in Lake Forest after a google and yelp search. It was quiet when we got there but the kitchen seem to be bustling with pick up/to-go orders. The space is modern and minimalistic, also reminiscent of a trendy cafe/boba tea shop.

We ordered the pan-fried pork dumplings (煎饺) with a side of cucumber with garlic sauce (蒜泥黄瓜) and also the braised beef noodle soup (红汤牛肉面). The dumplings were good, dumpling skin took a little bit more time to chew through but the meat was juicy. The braised beef noodle soup was definitely a show-stopper with the rich broth and perfect crunch from the bok choy and tenderness from the beef. I have since ordered 3-4x to be delivered to my home even though it’s astronomically more money (due to having to spend more to meet delivery requirements and then the fees on top of that) to have it delivered to my home (since we live out of the way from this restaurant, at least we can still receive deliveries). When ordering for home, I’ve done the pork dumplings in their house special sauce (秘制钟水饺) so it’s not pan fried and comes with the DELICIOUS chili sauce which I typically asked for extra haha.
