Join the Rally for Abortion Justice with Women's March - Oct 2

Graphics and Information Shared from Women’s March

When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas's abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. Simply put: We are witnessing the most dire threat to abortion access in our lifetime.

That's why we’re marching in every single state and in our nation's capital Washington, DC - on October 2 before the Supreme Court reconvenes. We need to send an unmistakable message about our fierce opposition to restricting abortion access and overturning Roe v. Wade before it's too late.

If you’re not able to join the march in Washington D.C., you can view the coverage of it below, or search here for a local event today. If you’re in Orange County, California I included a few local sister march events below.

Here's a quick rundown of what to bring and not to bring to your local Rally for Abortion Justice:

What to bring:

  • A mask – first and foremost – and extra hand sanitizer.

  • Comfortable walking shoes and layers. Maybe a hat!

  • A reusable water bottle and some snacks (it will be a long day!)

  • Your signs, banners, t-shirts, and flags. We can’t wait to see the full creativity of this movement on display.

What NOT to bring:

  • You should not bring any weapons, or anything that can be construed as a weapon.

  • No coat hanger imagery. We do not want to accidentally reenforce the Right-wing talking points that self-managed abortions are dangerous, scary and harmful.

  • No Handmaid’s Tale Imagery. The use of Handmaid's Tale imagery to characterize the controlling of women’s reproduction has proliferated, primarily by white women across the country, since the show has gained popularity. This message continues to create more fragmentation, often around race and class, because it erases the fact that Black women, undocumented women, incarcerated women, poor women, disabled women have always had their reproduction controlled in this country its not some dystopic future or past. This is just a heightened attack.

  • Many attendees may have substance sensitivities, and we will be in close quarters, please avoid smoking or wearing strong fragrances so that all can participate.

Be sure to take photos at your local rally, and share them on social media using #RallyForAbortionJustice and tag @WomensMarch so we can see our collective strength and amplify our voices online. We might just share your photo!

Today is going to be a major display of power for our movement, and we’re so grateful to the many organizers and volunteers who stepped up in their communities to make these 650+ actions possible.
