Creating a Gallery Wall
When Scott and I moved into our home together, I knew I wanted to do a gallery wall somewhere. I wasn’t sure about creating the gallery wall in the living room since we were trying to figure out what furniture we wanted where. But the office came together quite quickly and there was an obvious blank white wall waiting to be decorated with frames and things.
I had a couple key pieces that I wanted to add to the wall, so I did that first and then bought a couple bundles of frames and cut out butcher paper to the size of the frames. Then mapped out on the wall with butcher paper and painters tape where I wanted to place each frame. Once I locked that in, I swapped out the butcher paper for the frame (marking out where i need to place nails or drill holes). I’ve also seen people lay out on the floor how they want their frames and wall art to hang before placing it on the wall - but when transferring the frames from floor to wall, you may lose the distance you want in between each frame.
Things You Need:
Frames if you don’t already have frames
Prints if you want filler aside from photographs or other artwork
Nails & Screws (with anchors for the heavier items)
