Dinner at Rosewood Social in San Juan Capistrano, CA
My friends had been wanting to get together, so we decided to try a new place (or at least new to us) in San Juan Capistrano, Rosewood Social. This restaurant is known for their second floor, open air al fresco dining ambiance, and is right by the mission and train station. We started off with Guava Margaritas, and enjoyed as the sun set - the place is surrounded by many other restaurants and businesses, and you’ll get that city feel with the energy and buzz, but without the concrete jungle environment.
For dinner, we did family style and shared “small plates” which consisted of the prime steak tips, ahi sashimi, bang bang shrimp, and wagyu dumplings. Because we shared and the portions were perfect for the three of us, we were also able to share two desserts: the croissant dessert and banana fritters. The menu was very Asian forward with the types of dishes and the flavors (which I don’t ever mind, and love to see in South Orange County) - See the full menu here. We dined on a Saturday evening, and knew it was going to be busy in the area in general, give yourself a bit of extra time if you’re going to try to park in the structure right by the train tracks (we were surprised at how full that structure was).
