Hosting a Christmas House Painting Party

My girlfriend had sent me a Christmas house painting party reel that went viral, and we thought it would be so fun to do it for our next holiday gathering with the girls. I got the blank wooden houses (which are actually unfinished bird houses) from Michaels during a black friday sale. They also had them available in bulk, but they were all sold out when I was shopping for them. Thankfully everyone wanted a different style house, so the designs that I purchased were in stock individually. I also stocked up on new paints while buying the wooden houses. Then between Hobby Lobby and Amazon, I gathered a variety of mini Christmas decorations we could embellish our painted houses with.

When you’re setting up for the painting party, lay down butcher paper or a protective layer onto the table that you will be using, and display the mini decor and embellishments in little cups and containers, then have brushes and palettes for each person along with their unfinished wooden house. If you don’t want to spend an exorbitant amount of time painting nooks and crannies, then go for a smaller and simpler house (not the two story houses that we used). Add a special touch at the end by adding in some fairy LED lights inside the house to illuminate it!! My girlfriend hosted our friends at her house with a delicious mimosa brunch, and I brought almost all (she had the paint brushes and some paints on hand) of the supplies and items needed to do our Christmas craft!

Here’s everything you need:

  1. Unfinished Wooden Houses

  2. Paint

  3. Palette and Brushes

  4. Mini Decorations like bottle brush trees, wreaths, garland, light bulb strand, snowflakes, candy canes and fake snow.

  5. Hot glue gun
