Upgrading from Straw Visor to Oversized Brim Straw Hat for Summer
I don’t know in what delulu state I was in thinking that a visor would suffice for the summer sun these days! It just isn’t cutting it with coverage and shade even if I have sunscreen on, so while shopping at Northgate Market, I stumbled upon this really oversized brim straw hat…for only $9.99. Sold! So run, don’t walk to your nearest Northgate Market! I unfortunately could not find the hats listed and sold online, so you’ll have to shop in store and stock can vary by location.
I’ve gotten quite a bit of wear out of this hat even though it’s quite large to carry around. And to be honest, when I’m wearing it fully set on top of my head, I have no visibility around me, I have to lift my head slightly to see in front and around me. But I’d rather have this sub protection! It is not a must to every pool party or casual outdoor gathering that I attend.
This is also really great for those who garden, or spend any and especially an extended amount of time outdoors.
If you don’t want to have to shop in store, I’ve gathered some options found online. Just check the brim length to ensure it’s the width you desire. The one I have here covers to my shoulders, and if my arms are not extended outwards, I’m actually fully covered by the hat. I found that there were a ton reasonably priced on Etsy!
