Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge Views at Circular Quay - Sydney Australia
A prime viewing point to see the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge is at Circular Quay Harbour Lookout point. My friend Jacquii and her husband Dave had just gotten back from an international trip and I had wrapped up my work week at the convention center, so they picked me up for evening views of these two landmarks from a walk along Circular Quay and from the waterfront restaurant and brewhouse, The Squire’s Landing. You’ll also spot the ferries cruising in and out of the quay since the ferry wharfs are located there!
We were able to park in a car park just a few minutes away, but you can get to this area by taking the light rail to the Circular Quay stop! The area is known as the historical The Rocks neighborhood which shaped Sydney into what it is today. As you walk along the waterfront (on the left side, opposite of the Sydney Opera House), you can see views of the opera house in front then to your right as the Harbour Bridge comes into sight at the Circular Quay Harbour Lookout point. When looking up this location on google maps, the satellite imagery shows a docked cruise ship, so if there is one docked, it would most likely obstruct the view along the waterfront walk, but when you make it to the lookout point, you will be able to see both landmarks.
Following our walk, we headed into The Squire’s Landing, located right behind the lookout point. They offer house-brewed beers so we did a flight, and then paired with a pizza, burger and small bites. We got lucky to be able to snag a table that had just enough seats by the window so we could get a clear view of the opera house!
