Eating at Colosseo Ristorante Italiano in Brighton and Hove , West Sussex - England UK

Whenever we visit family in England, we typically do a dinner in Portslade with family and friends in the area (since that’s a centralized location for everyone). The evening will usually start with drinks at the Railway Inn, then we will pick a spot to dine on the same street as the pub. I’ve eaten at Colosseo a couple years prior, and was excited to experience it again.

We ordered a couple appetizers like mozzarella in carrozza (mozz sticks that come with a tomato and basil dipping sauce), pane all-aglio (garlic bread) and insalata verde e mista (mixed green salad). The restaurant space is tight, but they were able to accomodate our large group (so a reservation was key) And it’s nice that there’s a variety of authentic Italian dishes to choose from including risotto, chicken, fish, pizza, and pasta dishes. Honestly the pizza menu alone is impressive. I got the linguine vongole, which had linguine pasta cooked with fresh clams in a delicate cherry tomato sauce with a touch of fresh parsley and chilli. I was surprised to see the portion sizes for the main dishes, but everyone came hungry. See the full menu here.
