Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park - Year of the Dragon 2024
Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park is in full effect, celebrations run until February 18, 2024. Of course aside from the delicious eats all throughout the park, there’s a variety of fun things to do and take part in near Paradise Gardens in the park. I’ve previously experienced Lunar New Year at DCA, and knew I needed to experience this year as much as possible since it’s the Year of the Dragon (my year), and my key/annual pass would be expiring in early February (and I was leaning on not renewing).
Disney Lunar New Year Event highlights include:
Special appearances by some popular Disney Characters—including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse—dressed in colorful attire
Innovative menus celebrating delicious Asian cuisine
Commemorative festive merchandise
Kid-friendly crafts and activities
Festive décor and more
All events, experiences and offerings are subject to cancellation or change without notice. On a Disney trip where I wasn’t checking out the festivities and activities yet, but all of the LNY merch was out - I made sure to snag Year of the Dragon ears and a spirit jersey, particularly because my animal is the dragon. I then came back another day with my brother to do as much of the LNY fun as we could. We didn’t partake in any of the exclusive food offerings since we just can’t be bothered to wait in lines. Also, I don’t feel like I could eat/drink that much in one visit anyways. But I did have my eye on a few different LNY drinks people were carrying around & enjoying. I’m also happy that I got to last minute snag a more open spot on the parade route to view Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, but unfortunately did not get to see the Hurry Home World of Color pre-show in the evening. My brother and I did stop into the Grand Californian Hotel to see the hanging dragon though!
