Hosting a Galentine's Afternoon Tea with Prosecco

For 2024 and beyond, my friends and I have been trying to get together more. We decided that we needed to put a Galentine’s day party on the calendar. I had mentioned that I saw really cute valentines/heart tea decor items like tiered trays and teapots and it would be fun to do an afternoon tea. So we settled on going ahead and putting together a Galentine’s Day Afternoon tea party! I would bring all the decor, and everyone else would provide the food, cause you know that is not a strength of mine haha.

Food Options that I feel need to be included in an afternoon tea:

  1. 2-3 Finger Sandwiches (we also did open faced salmon & lox mini bagels - HIGHLY recommend

  2. 2-3 Desserts - we had a variety of bite-sized cakes and there were heart-shaped macarons, but we forgot to take them out of the fridge

  3. Scones - these were homemade, topped with strawberries, and served with jam and clotted cream

  4. 2-3 Teas or tea for each person, dependent on your party size (we did 3 options for 4 people)

  5. For the 21+ group, add prosecco with shimmer dust for a fun time! I had also brought heart-shaped champagne flutes and tied bows with heart acrylic name tags for each person

To decorate the table and space - aside from the pink fringe garland that was already placed on the wall from a previous event, I used (and tried to re-use items I already had on hand, this is why I usually buy semi neutral colors so the item can be reused):

  1. Various Heart Balloons to place on the wall

  2. 2 and 3 Tiered Stands

  3. Heart Shaped Champagne Flutes with Pink Ribbon and Customized Heart Acrylic Name tags/Place cards

  4. Table Runner

  5. Teapots, Floral Mugs and Saucers from my mom

  6. Pink Roses that I split into bud vases and put in one of the teapots

  7. Mini serving cutlery with Heart Embellishments
