Trying the Alleyoop Ready in 5 Set - Makeup Brush, Touch Up Pen and 11th Hour Eyeshadow Stick
As someone who travels frequently, I'm always looking for ways to consolidate my beauty products. That's why I was excited to try Alleyoop's "Ready in 5 Set", which includes their award-winning 4-in-1 makeup brush and their "Pen Pal" makeup touch up pen. Overall, I found that while the products were fun to try, they didn't replace my usual brushes and products.
One of the standout products in the set is the 4-in-1 brush, which includes a variety of brush types. While I appreciate the versatility of the brush, I found that I only really needed the concealer and blush brush, as I prefer to apply and blend eyeshadow with my fingers. The blush brush was particularly soft, thanks to its synthetic fibers, and I appreciated that the concealer sponge could be replaced with a refill.
The Pen Pal touch up pen includes all the makeup products needed for quick touch-ups on the go. However, I still prefer to use my liquid eyeliner over the pen pal eyeliner, and I wish there was a darker brown brow liner shade available. While the champagne highlighter included in the set didn't have a lot of color payoff and didn't blend easily, the 11th Hour eyeshadow stick was a pleasant surprise. It's pigmented, easy to blend, and applies like a cream before setting like a powder. It's also promoted as waterproof and smudge-proof for at least 11 hours, and while I didn't test this, I did notice that it didn't crease.
While the set is a good value at $62 for a $77 value, I'm not sure if the individual products are worth the price. Additionally, after just one use of the concealer sponge, it seemed to be coming off of the base of the handle, and it took longer to blend product than I expected (even though I wet the sponge).
Overall, if you're someone who is always on the go and looking for multifunctional beauty tools and products, Alleyoop's "Ready in 5 Set" might be worth a try. However, if you're like me and prefer to stick with your usual products and brushes, you might want to pass. That being said, I would recommend the 11th Hour eyeshadow stick if you're looking for a new eyeshadow product, as it applies and wears well and comes in a variety of mainly neutral colors.
