Hatch Modern Japanese Dining in Downtown Los Angeles

Whilst is Downtown LA for my cousin’s wedding, Scott and I conveniently stayed at the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles at THE BLOC, which has a ton of restaurants, entertainment and shopping (because I also had to stop by the Uniqlo because I didn’t pack properly). While figuring out dinner plans, we searched for a yakitori styled restaurant and found HATCH which happened to be located in THE BLOC. We made a reservation same day, and it was a treat!

The black fried rice was different, interesting flavors but a bit more on the dry side - it was a good sized dish to share. The yakitori items were delicious, nothing that really stood out as we got fairly standard yakitori skewers - but they came out quickly. We were warned that the bone marrow would take some time to prepare (30+ minutes), but it did come out significantly later than the rest of our dishes. It was a bit rich for my preferences especially served with the garlic mochi bread. I think if I had started off with this I might have liked it more. All in all a fun place to dine at (there seem to be quite the lively atmosphere at the front of the restaurant where the bar is located), and the dishes are quality and seem like an authentic yakitori experience to me.
