Blueland's Holiday Hand Foaming Soap Refill Packs

I’ve been wanting to try Blueland’s foaming hand soap for awhile but hadn’t because I was working through a 128oz refill of liquid foaming hand soap.

Since I already had dispensers (the Blueland dispensers are 9oz), I just bought the refill packs in the holiday scents (gingerbread, evergreen + peppermint) and also got a variety of iris agave, perrine lemon + lavender eucalyptus scents. If you are new to Blueland or do not have foaming soap dispensers or containers at home, there is a starter kit that you can get that includes 1 Forever bottle and 3 refill tablets. When you’re ready for more refill tablets, just order off their site - you completely remove having to purchase plastic bottles or new bottles of soap each time.

I took advantage of a Black Friday 20% off sale, and paid $1.6/tablet (20% off $2) vs the ~$1.23/bottle of liquid from my 128oz refill jug I was using. So it does cost more per bottle to use Blueland, but everything down to how the package is shipped is more sustainable than the plastic jug I purchased from Amazon. So you have to weight the pros and cons and what works best for your home. I typically tend to err on the side of more cost efficiency, but the large jug did take up alot of space under my sink and after use, there’s not much I can do with the plastic jug unless I want to go to a refill store to fill it up with a different brand of soap. With Blueland, the tablets are very compact, and I stored 22 tablets in repurposed candle jar.

Each soap tablet is packaged in compostable paper - I just unwrap, fill my bottle with warm water and drop the tablet in. Only thing is since my bottle is not clear, I can’t see when the tablet is completely dissolved. I just came back later in the day and figured it would be dissolved and ready to use.

The soap foamed up well in one pump, but the scent is kind of mild but overall I’m happy that it works and that I’m cutting down on plastic waste since I don’t have to buy the liquid refill bottles or jugs. The tablets are formulated without parabens, phosphates, ammonia, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorine bleach, or phthalates. And sourced from ingredients that are vegan, gluten-free, soy/nut-free. It’s Cradle to Cradle Certified™, Leaping Bunny (cruelty-free), EPA Safer Choice 🌎🍃🐰

Blueland advertises that over 1 year, an average household only needs 1 Forever bottle and 25 hand soap tablets, which would cut down on using 25 individual plastic bottles of soap. For my home, we use 3 foaming hand soap pumps, but we don’t use all 3 at the same pace.

Blueland hits all the marks with their safe and non-toxic ingredients, eco-friendly packaging, water and energy efficient consumption at their factories, carbon-neutral shipping practices and holding their manufacturers, suppliers and warehouses to the highest standards of respect, stewardship, and transparency towards their employees and our shared planet.
