Korean BBQ at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong in Irvine, CA
Can you believe that I actually dined at an non All You Can Eat KBBQ restaurant?! YES you read right, NON-AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant, and it was fabulous! I've eaten at Kang Ho-dong Baekjeong in KTOWN, LA and was very excited when I saw an Irvine location was opening. I didn't go for awhile post opening since the wait times were outrageous. I finally got a chance to meet up with Bobby from 100Eats and I suggested we check this place out since we both hadn't been yet.
I arrived before the dinner rush, but couldn't be seated until my entire party was present, so I grabbed a beer up at the bar. Once Bobby arrived, we were seated and ordered the rib eye, short rib and brisket for an assortment of beef choices. We found that the rib eye was our favorite (but I do always have a soft spot for brisket). At this location the servers will cook the meat for you and that's fine with me since I'm usually the one doing the grilling. There is the usual diverse array of side dishes and sauces and the beef overall has a high quality taste to it. One of my fave things about this place is the circular grill and how there's cheesy corny and egg cooking on the rim of the grill while the meat cooks.
I wouldn't say this is my new go-to place, I definitely have a weakness for all you can eat KBBQ places, but Kang Ho-dong Baekjeong is a must try in Irvine. Then there are so many dessert places in the area to head over to afterwards. Have you been to Kang Ho-dong Baekjeong? Or KBBQ in general?
