I'm sharing a different way to style a dress for the holidays - so when I discovered that sheer tops are all the rage, I decided to style one underneath a satin wrap dress. I picked up a sheer dotted top in black and white, and to give this look a more formal look, I layered the black top under the dress. The satin dress alone was a bit more revealing on me than I'm used to, so this is a great alternative so I can still wear the dress. I also went out on a limb and tried some color this year, and magenta seems to fare well on me. So if you want to try a new, bold color, this is a great way to do so, as the sheer black top seems to balance out the vibrant hue.

To give the dress an edgier look, I completed the outfit with a pair of fitted sock booties featuring a lucite heel. If I'm going out for a fun gathering, I can throw a faux fur jacket or leather jacket over my shoulders. And if I would like to wear this outfit in a dressier setting, I can swap out the booties for a pair of heels and glitzy jewelry. This look works well for any holiday related event or very fitting for New Year's Eve (just add some sparkle for a fun touch). If you're not a satin or wrap dress type of girl, you can always apply the same styling of the sheer top under a slip dress or other style dress that will fit well over the sheer top.
