Hong Kong Disneyland 2017
During my trip to Hong Kong this past October, I was lucky enough to experience the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Resort thanks to my good friend Angel (and her husband). We all got to visit Hong Kong Disneyland during Halloween Time which was a whole lot of fun. Aside from the themed decor, we experienced a variety of shows as well as new (new compared to the rides I've ridden at the Anaheim or Orlando parks) and classic rides and attractions.
The Iron Man ride was similar to Star Tours, but of course surrounding an Iron Man storyline taking place in Hong Kong (we were lucky enough to get to ride in our own car). After meeting Iron Man for a few photo ops, we headed over to the Corner Cafe (similar to the Carnation Cafe) for a Duffy's afternoon tea set (it was SO DANG GOOD - I highly recommend it)!
We got a special seating spot on Main Street U.S.A. to enjoy the Halloween parade, then headed off to take the obligatory photos in front of the castle. We rode Dumbo, and a couple rides in Toy Story Land. For the shows, we watched Mickey's Philharmagic (which I've also seen in Orlando) and Mickey and the Wondrous Book. What is definitely interesting and different about the experience at Hong Kong Disneyland is that all the characters (aside form the princesses that do meet & greets) speak and sing in Cantonese.
While Angel and her family rode It's a Small World, Jen and I went on the 'bigger kid' rides in Toy Story Land, and we all met up together again to do a Haunted House walk through (which was actually terrifying in the moment since everyone was speaking Cantonese and we had no idea what was going on, and it was like a dark, twisted take on some Disney characters) and ended with a fireworks spectacular! Have you been to Hong Kong Disneyland before? Check out a video and photos of my visit below - you can find other Disneyland coverage is here!
