Layering a T-Shirt with Dress and Styling Convertible Backpacks
Ever since getting back from Seoul, South Korea, I have been obsessed with layering tank cami dresses over short or long sleeve fitted shirts. This is definitely a 90s trend that I had been seeing here and there in the States but even more so in Seoul. Naturally, styles in so cal are a bit more fitted and of a silk, cotton or velvet fabric; in Seoul, I spotted girls wearing looser fitting dresses over a fitted top; and sometimes both pieces would be loose fitting.
The black tank cami dress that I styled in this look was picked up while Jen had an appointment and I was left to my own devices at one of the many underground shopping centers of a metro stop. I found that the best and most affordable shopping was always located underground in these subway shopping centers. The dress was approximately $5 and I picked up the forest green shirt for approximately $7 from a small boutique shop when visiting the area of Hongdae.
One of the most useful accessories that I brought on this trip is a convertible backpack that I ordered from Amazon. I was on the hunt for a functional but stylish backpack that could convert to handbag, but I kept coming across backpacks that looked more fitting for a backpacking or hiking trip. The reason I was on the hunt for this bag in the first place is that from prior trips to Asian countries, I found that I had to hold my backpack to the front of my body and it was troublesome to have to worry about my bag while in crowded places. Finally, I found this leather and nylon convertible backpack that I can easily wear as a backpack, or clip in a shoulder strap and wear it as a shoulder bag. There are two side pockets for water bottles or other items that you want to easily access, a hidden zippered back pocket that is great for storing cash or anything that you would not want to be subjected to pickpocketing; and the placement of the zipper for the front pocket is situated on the bag so that it's not easy to open (as a pickpocketer). If you're looking for a travel bag, I highly recommend this bag; Jen even purchased one for the Korea trip as well! Shop the entire look below:
