Fall to Winter Outfit with Cape
Transitioning into Winter // What I Wore to the Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty Exhibit at the JANM
There has been all this buzz about the Hello Kitty Exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in DTLA that I had to check it out and share it on FFF (hence the Hello Kitty pin and sticker that may show in my outfit photos). I'm still sorting through all the photos (I took SO many, and that's an understatement); but in the meantime, here's what I wore for a somewhat cold day in LA which means it's transitioning into winter for us Southern Californians.
Hat, August
Reversible Bardot Necklace, Samantha Wills
Rings, Forever 21 & Papers and Peonies
Dress, Urban Outfitters
Cape, Lex & Mila
Vince Camuto Boots, Tootsies Shoe Boutique Newport
Backpack,Thrifted from Goodwill
I wanted to wear a dress but knew it was going to be a tad windy so I layered a cape coat over my dress which I could wear from day to night since I'd be in LA all day. Instead of wearing ankle booties, I opted for knee high boots to keep my legs covered up more and kept my head warm with a hat (which I chose in burgundy to bring out the colors of the dress). In Southern California during this season, we usually experience chilly mornings and fairly mild mid-70° temps; so layering up too much during the morning can lead to a toasty day. Throw on a lightweight jacket or coat over your look and add a scarf in the morning which you can easily take off in the afternoons. Shorts may not seem so appropriate at this time but if you want to bare a little leg, wear a dress or skirt that hits mid thigh or above the knee and add tall boots (get into the winter season by wearing knee high socks). What's your favorite piece or accessory to wear during the winter? And stay tuned for photos and coverage from the Hello Kitty Exhibit!
