The Roaring 20s with What A Betty
I am so excited to get to shoot with OC Style Report & Swell Beauty this morning for a new bridal series that they will be launching soon. Yes, you read right, bridal! That means I'll get to model a beautiful wedding gown, and I heard that I could possibly be accessorized in industry-leading bridal pieces, What a Betty. In the meantime, before the bridal photos are published, and in lieu of the many Halloween costume parties that are taking place this week, I wanted to share this phenomenal What a Betty headpiece (which can serve as costume inspiration) that I had the pleasure of donning at Fun Nights Out Roaring 20s Casino Night Fundraiser at the Essex Skyline benefiting the American Cancer Society. I was able to attend the event last minute, and I didn't have anything to wear; so on my way home from work, I stopped in at an OC Goodwill store (seriously, you can't go wrong with the costume selection and affordable prices) and picked up this amazing sequin gown (that I didn't try on and happened to be my size) for only $5! The next morning, I met Betty and made up my mind in 2 seconds as to which headpiece I wanted to use, it was perfect for a glitzy and glamorous 1920s soiree; huge feathers, a crazy amount of sparkles, just that ultimate statement piece that epitomized the splendor of the 'Golden Age Twenties'. Betty also let me use a pair of her black satin gloves and I layered with my own pearl bracelet; that just completed my look.
What a Betty is a leading accessories (headpieces, veils, garters, belts, you name it) designer in the Bridal industry and is creating a huge presence in the fashion industry; she recently had her pieces at Metropolitan Fashion Week, and one of her peacock facsinator was worn on the hit ABC television show, Revenge. I met Betty awhile back at a restaurant grand opening, and I am so glad we have kept in touch and I've gotten to see her brand grow into what it is today! She's so sweet to work with and I admire her determination and passion. She has everything from an every day headbands to elaborate headpieces like the one I wore, which is the 'Great Gatsby White Feather Brooch Hair Clip' clipped onto one of her bridal headbands.
