Faux Hawk Braid Tutorial with Swell Beauty, Laguna Beach

Liked the highlighting and contouring tutorial by Swell Beauty? You're going to dig his awesome faux hawk braid tutorial that Dee did on my hair. It was quite fitting since I had some streaks of pink and blue in my hair, so it turned out very rocker chic. Here's what you'll need to complete this hair look:

Comb

Hairtie

Bobby Pins

Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo

Redken Texture Wax Blast 10 High Impact Finishing Spray

TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Hair Spray

1. Pull up portions of hair where you will be braiding, and spray with the sexy hair dry shampoo

2. Take the same portions of hair and tease from the roots to create volume for the braid

3. Grab the hair closest to the hairline and start to french braid (keeping the braid approximately 3-4 inches wide), when you get to the bottom of the braid, secure it with a hair tie. Gently go down the braid and slightly tug on the braid outwards to create more volume and show the braid better.

4. Tuck the end of the braid towards the nape of the neck and secure with bobby pins. Finish by spraying the braid with hairspray and the finishing spray (which can also be sprayed onto the straight hair for a sleeker look)

Now rock this braided look for your next girls night out or concert!
