Spending an Afternoon in Balboa, Newport Beach CA

Ugh, my hair is looking a little wild in this top knot because of my layered hair, so please, do excuse the mess! I took some time out this past weekend for myself. I've been caught in that daily grind, work crunch (although I DO love what I do) and just needed to spend some time outside in the sun and by the water.

I headed down to Balboa Island in Newport Beach on Sunday, parked in the neighborhoods then walked over to and rode the Balboa Island Ferry (which I can't believe is still only $1 each adult/1 way). The harbor couldn't have been anymore perfect; sparkling waters, happy boat/kayak/paddleboard go-ers, cheery ferry riders, blue skies, and sunshine!

After arriving on the Balboa Peninsula side of the harbor, I walked around the Balboa Fun Zone before heading up to the Newport Landing Restaurant & Oyster Bar for lunch.

I enjoyed oysters of course, bloody marys, and fish tacos! Afterwards, I indulged in a chocolate covered frozen banana, because you can't visit Balboa without enjoying one! Here's what I wore for our day date:
