Wine Tasting at South Coast Winery in Temecula
Scott and I did a weekend in Temecula, and while we were there, we stopped into South Coast Winery for a wine tasting, which then turned into lounging in the courtyard with a bottle of their Muscat Canelli (Light citrus aromas are enhanced with the spicy fruit character). We had friends that were visiting so they met up with us and we also got to enjoy live music, and light bites like the charcuterie board.
We didn’t need a reservation for the wine tasting, and went earlier in the morning to try to beat the crowds especially since the pandemic is still affecting public gatherings and service-type places. Scott and I tried a variety of whites, reds and rosés through 6 glasses each for $20-$25/each (I can’t recall the exact amount, but around there). We stayed up at the bar because there weren’t really any cocktail tables to sit at, and at least we could get on with our tasting that way, because if we went to go sit outside during the tasting we’d have to go back and forth between the courtyard and tasting room to fill up our next glass. But once we settled on a wine that we liked, we got the bottle and enjoyed it outside, a) because it was gorgeous out and I wanted to sit, and b) so I could be away from the groups of people inside the tasting room since it was making me anxious (there were large tasting parties and bachelorette groups coming in and out so I was feeling uneasy). Check out the events calendar for the winery here.
