Lunar New Year 2020 at South Coast Plaza's The Hall Global Eatery

I got to take a nice break in my day and head over to the new The Hall Global Eatery at South Coast Plaza for a Lunar New Year event celebrating the Year of the Rat! We enjoyed pre-lunch cocktails and charcuterie bites, perusing the limited edition designer styles then a delicious, beautifully curated lunch by Chef Amar Santana!

I always look forward to celebrating Lunar New Year at South Coast Plaza because they really highlight the importance and cultural aspects of the holiday around the mall. Whether it’s a lunch or visiting the display exhibit, I love seeing how luxury brands are creating Lunar New Year specific designs. For our meal at The Hall Global Eatery, we started with the Matsui Cocktail - Sakura Cask Japanese Whiskey, house made orange marmalade, lemon & honey bitters, mencia and Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto Liqueur, along with a charcuterie. Then after checking out the limited edition fashions, and we were seated we started with the crudo sampler: scallops with black truffles, scottish salmon with carrot ponzu and japanese hamachi. It was quite refreshing, which led to the Shermoula baked fresh fish, lamb hummus + pita, crispy pork belly and braised lamb shanks. We ended our meal with black sesame ice cream on an egg tart. I can’t wait to come back, it was such a delight!
