Mindfulness for PMS, Hangovers, and Other Real-World Situations
I'm realizing more and more as I get older that it's important to harness and master techniques on how to balance oneself mentally. I would say that in this past year alone, I've been on the verge of 2 panic attacks, and have found myself completely overwhelmed or flustered over small things. I started taking yoga with my future mother in law to not only stay in shape but also attempt to align my body and mind. Unfortunately my groupon deal ended and I couldn't afford to pay about 7 times the cost of what I paid, for more classes (and yes, I know I received an extremely discounted rate to begin with, but no matter how great the class, I can't justify the cost).
I was so excited and relieved when I received an advance copy of Courtney Sunday's Mindfulness for PMS, Hangovers, and Other Real-World Situations. It is actually one of the most enjoyable guide-type books that I've read. There are over 75 meditations that are broken up into several categories covering all aspects of daily life such as everyday moments of mindfulness, technological mindfulness, moody & mindful moments, and mindfulness in times of travel.
Having a meditation for every small and big thing in life is extremely helpful; I was actually very surprised at how Sunday was able to provide meditations for common to more obscure issues and matters. Each passage paints a scenario, then leads to how and where to focus your mind as well as breathing techniques.
I highly recommend Mindfulness for PMS, Hangovers, and Other Real-World Situations, as I can apply it so seamlessly into my life and I have found it to be very helpful in becoming more centered because I feel equipped with the skills to be able to tackle every type of situation. The book released this week on May 22nd, get your copy here.
