Natural Pastel Blue and Green Beach Bridal Shoot
I’m always inspired to shoot anything bridal related on the beach at golden hour. There’s just something with the rolling waves, rocky and sandy beach shoreline as well as the setting sun creating an overall romantic, free-spirited feel that I can never get enough of. My photographer Shawna (Bleudog Fotography) and I were inspired to do a series in which we featured pastel colored dresses for the bride to wear instead of the traditional white/ivory gown. To add more bridal touches to the each look below, a veil and jewelry can be added; we just wanted to highlight the dresses and bouquets here, but that’s the most fun part - accessorizing!
To go a bit more un-traditional and to coordinate with your pastel colored wedding dress, have your veiled dyed to the same color as your dress! If you choose to wear a darker colored wedding dress, perhaps try a veil that is in the same color story or a lighter shade of your dress to complement the dress and avoid not looking over the top (unless you want to go all out, then go for it).
Below are two chiffon style dresses, one worn by Casie with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder sleeves - super flow-y, super romantic!! I just love the bouquet that is paired with the dress, most greenery that pop against her dress. The second is worn by me, with a surplice style neckline and tie knot front. Also flowy, a little less, I would say bohemian vibes compared to Casie’s dress. The two color dresses which are a very light slate blue and light sage green pair together well and would actually make for a nice wedding color palette for the bridesmaids to wear.
Would you wear a pastel or colored dress for your wedding?
