Weekend Brunch at The Public House by Evans Brewing Co
This past Saturday morning was spent brunchin' it at The Public House Tasting Room & Restaurant in the SOCO District of Downtown Fullerton. I don't usually venture up to Fullerton and was excited to experience a restaurant in that area for brunch. Upon entering The Public House, I was immediately drawn to the rustic meets industrial vibe with the exposed brick and wood panels, as well as the displayed barrels and hanging metal pendant lights. Since The Public House also serves as a Tasting Room for the International Award-Winning Evans Brewing co, you really get that tasting room feel from the decor and ambiance. The food menu itself offers innovative pub foods created by chef Amanda Platt and perfectly complements the brewery's craft beer selection.
For brunch, Scott and I ordered the Cinnamon French Toast, Spicy Pepperoni Flatbread, 2 Egg Plate, a Bloody Mary and Mimosa. I have to say that overall, The Public House is one of my FAVE brunch spots. Our server Carlos took great care of us, just attentive enough; and each dish was the perfect portion and for the quality of each dish we received, we were pleasantly surprised at the great price point. My Bloody Mary was the BEST I've ever tasted (and I love that it came with a bacon strip in it), and bottomless mimosas are only $10 (what!). I'm usually not a French toast type of person, but I was intrigued that the Cinnamon French Toast which had a cinnamon bun married into the bread - it was just enough doughy-ness and sweetness from the cinnamon bun, and crunch texture from the bread crust.
I highly recommend coming to The Public House for weekend brunch or any other meal; they also have great offerings like various Happy Hour and evening specials, as well as live music. The SOCO district was also a lovely place to walk around to check out shops after our meal, Scott and I even popped into a local artisanal market and picked up some non-toxic, hand poured candles from our friends NESW WAX CO!
