러쉬 명동역점 Lush Myeongdong Station Shop Tour - Seoul, Korea
Our first stop (aside from checking into our hotel) after touching down in Seoul, Korea was the Lush Myeongdong Station store for a shop tour. My last tour was at the Oxford Street Location (a flagship store in London) and I was quite excited to get to visit my favorite skincare/bath product store while in Korea and receive a tour from Yaejin (the PR Assistant Manager) and Jinyoung (from the Marketing Division). This location is nestled in the hustle and bustle of the Myeong-Dong street shopping area- there are stores upon stores, restaurants upon restaurants, street vendors and more all crammed into a series of streets and pathways. It's a very popular place and the perfect setting for our tour, as the Myeong-Dong location is one of the larger location of sixty-six, yes 66 Lush Korea store locations (some of the Lush Korea locations also have a SPA).
While there are bubble bar demos outside and bath bomb demos inside at the big tub, shoppers can enjoy two floors of the best Lush products. The best-selling item is the body spray, DIRTY (Spray yourself fresh day or night, sandalwood helps to combat unwanted odors, and the famous Dirty scent of tarragon, lavender and subtle spearmint will fool even the most discerning nose). There is a robust range of haircare (aside from the usual gel/liquid shampoos and conditioners, the shampoo bars have a dedicated display), shower goodies (gels, jellies, and smoothies), lotions, scrubs, massage bars, bath bombs, bubble bars, makeup and Gorilla Perfumes displays, and a lovely fresh face masks island surrounded with shelves of soap and other skincare products.
Aside from the popular DIRTY body spray, customers always come in asking for the 'Shrek Mask', which is the Mask of Magnaminty. What I love about the fresh face masks are the displays and, I learned that the masks are made in the shop and not in England; and from the freshest ingredients that are sourced locally.
I took this opportunity to try a couple of body scrubs (Ocean Salt and Self-Preserving Ocean Salt) and finished with an application of the Charity Pot lotion (I also picked one up for myself and 100% of each pot cost is donated to the organization that is featured/photographed on the pot - these organizations are usually specific to the local community); the charity pot I chose benefits girls' education in South Korea. I also asked that the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner (my FAVE product) be demo'd on Jen (she loved it so much she purchased it), and we both picked up a couple of cosmetics items (I sold her on the Feeling Younger Skin Tint which makes for the most phenomenal highlighter). To bring our shop tour to close, we got to demo the Intergalactic Bath Bomb at the big tub near the front of the store; and upon checking out with were gifted with a couple of fresh face masks and enamel pins! I've only seen the pins offered at the Lush Korea locations and this offering needs to come to the States (various pins are gifted to customers depending on their purchases, so I received a Charity Pot pin for purchasing a Charity Pot).
