Sleekhair & Prom Project Event Recap April 30, 2016
In the midst of prom season, I am honored to have gotten to be apart of, as well as share this event recap of the Pretty for Prom event benefiting The Prom Project, a non-profit which gifts low-income high school senior girls with a prom look. I co-hosted this event with Sleekhair along with Ivy Love Shop and Jackie Rose Style to gather the community and bring awareness to this beloved cause, collect prom dress and accessory donations, as well as allow guests to get beautified, shop, mingle, and learn about prom 2016 beauty and fashion trends.
Over 100 guests were in attendance on April 30, 2016 at Sleekhair.com headquarters in Tustin, CA; hundreds of dresses, shoes and accessories were donated to the YWCA Prom Project. The formal dresses will not only go towards high school seniors involved in the Prom Project but also to the underprivileged wives of enlisted Marines of Camp Pendleton for the Black-Tie Marine Birthday Ball as well as other at-risk girls throughout the OC.
We had three beautiful senior girls from the Prom Project that were mine and Jackie's models for the prom 2016 trends presentation. They truly felt so beautiful from the inside out, and we were so excited that they got to get dolled up and show off their prom look. We had Alyssa as our Vintage 'Audrey Hepburn' inspired girl, Stephanie as our romantic, ethereal flowy dress girl, and Denise as our Hollywood glam girl. They had their hair and makeup done courtesy of the Sleekhair team, were outfitted by The Prom Project and styled by Jackie Rose, as well as fitted with a corsage by Bleudog Floral.
We all can't thank you enough for our sponsors and everyone that was involved to make this event a huge success. We are also very thankful and beyond grateful for all of the guests that attended and for the overwhelming amount of donations. Sleekhair and I hope to be able to continue to offer community events like this that tie in beauty and fashion paired with an amazing cause!
I want to thank Susan Reyes of the Sleekhair team for glamming me up! She gave me glittery lids, a contoured face, and a matte nude lip to complement my floral dress.
