Cleaning Makeup Brushes with the Artis Cleaning System

I am 100% guilty of not cleaning my makeup brushes as much as I should. Especially now that I'm exploring different beauty looks and using my brushes more, it would only make sense that I clean the brushes often. I would say that I rarely (yes, I admit it), clean my brushes, which is extremely unhealthy for my skin.
  • Makeup, dirt, oil, dead skin and bacteria accumulate on the brushes and I'm in turn putting that onto my face. It's definitely something I don't realize until I've gotten acne, a blemish, or worse...an infection like pink eye.
  • Aside from the skin imperfections and irritations that can occur, cleaning your brushes is also important because you want to take care and maintain the quality of your brushes; makeup and other gunk can build up in the bristles of your brush which result in your brushes losing their softness and creates uneven, flawed makeup application.
  • As well, any makeup build up in your brushes can also alter current makeup you're putting on as it can mix with the makeup you are applying and change the color.
I haven't been cleaning my brushes enough because I either a) am in a rush or b) forget about it or put it off thinking that I'll clean my brushes later. I've tried a couple cleaners and methods of cleaning my brushes but it always ends up being too time consuming for me. Now I have no excuse with the Artis Cleaning System; I received the Brush Cleaning Pad and Brush Cleansing Foam and what makes this system so easy to integrate into my beauty routine and jammed packed schedule is that everything I need to clean my brushes are those two items, the pad and the foam. Having to add water into the mix is an entire ordeal in itself because I would then have to wet the brushes, add a cleanser and continue to wash under the water and then towel dry the brushes.
With the Artis Cleaning System, I simply pump the foam directly onto the pad or the brush, then once the foam is on the brush I work the bristles back and forth on the pad until it's clean. I started with my smaller brushes and immediately noticed a difference. Brushes that were entirely covered in dark makeup were instantly cleaned off and the brush almost looked brand new. It took a bit more elbow grease and multiple applications of foam to clean the bigger brushes that I use more often. I'm still working on my foundation brush since it has a substantial amount of foundation build up in the bristles.
I highly recommend the Artis Cleaning System to cleanse makeup brushes because it does the job, it's uncomplicated and I can seamlessly incorporate using it in my day to day life. Shop the Artis Cleaning System here!
