The Broad Museum in LA
I finally got to visit The Broad [pronounced like it rhymes with 'road'] Museum in Downtown Los Angeles a couple weekends ago thanks to my girl Jen who had reserved tickets months ago. Our tickets were for a 1:30pm entrance, and unfortunately, by that time, reservations to being admitted into the Infinity Mirror Room are booked for the day. Nevertheless, we still had an amazing time exploring the artwork on exhibit. The Broad's Inaugural Installation features contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, and Any Warhol. My friends and I spent at least 2.5 hours before we started getting hungry and grabbed ramen for an early dinner in Little Tokyo.
Reservations for free general admission into the museum as of now is booked through early May, keep checking back on the site so that you can snag your tickets. You can also come for on-site tickets, however it may take 30-40 minutes on a weekday and 60-90 minutes on the weekend to get in.
Tips that I received from friends that attended multiple times were that if you do want to get your ticket the day of, arrive early in the morning, about an hour before museum opening (grab a coffee and pastry to occupy yourself while waiting), and right as you are admitted, sign up for the Infinity Mirror Room, time slots usually get booked up in the morning and are only available through the early afternoon.
If you plan to reserve tickets online and would also like to get into the Infinity Mirror Room, reserve morning tickets so that you are able to sign up for the exhibit right away. Also, try to avoid bringing a backpack unless you absolutely need to, the museum staff are adamant about you wearing it on the front so that you are 'aware' of your belongings.
The museum is located next to the Walt Disney Concert hall, and parking is available in an underground parking structure connected to the museum, see the rates here. There are also public parking lots surrounding the museum that are around $10/day (cash).
This is a must-do/see when visiting LA!
