Rockefeller Center Ice Skating , New York City Travel Diary

Okay, so maybe Thanksgiving week wasn't the best time to be ice skating at Rockefeller Center because they had intense set up going on for their tree lighting ceremony which wasn't going to occur until after we were done with our NYC trip. However, my mother was just mesmerized with the notion of ice skating at Rockefeller Center, and we made it happen. Despite tips from friends that the the wait time could be around 4 hours, we were able to easily purchase our admission ticket and ice skate rental, and were on the ice within 15 minutes. The ice was a bit choppy for my liking since we came in towards the end of the skating session, but to see my mom so happy to be doing something she was looking forward to made everything worth it!

The rink is open daily from 8:30am-Midnight, with skating sessions taking place in 1.5hr slots, see the skating schedule here
