16thColony's The Rumours Crop Top in Goddess of Mystery

When I met with OC designer and style blogger Renee Rogers at Gypsy Den for coffee awhile back, we instantly hit it off. We had been following each other on IG for a few months and first met at a blogger networking event and knew we had to get together one on one. Renee proposed that I style and model in pieces from 16thColony's Mystic Spirit Collection, and I excitingly obliged and was honored to get to work with her, I just adore her and her work! We met one more time so that I could see, feel, and try on the pieces I would be styling with my own wardrobe, and we selected 6 pieces to bring with us to none other than the beautiful, Joshua Tree National Park for our “Goddess of Mystery” shoot. We uncontrollably giggled and got just so excited for our concept and theme of having me styled into almost mysterious, goddess like creature of the desert and its rock formations and foliage.

We knew we wanted to go for a dark, and almost vampy beauty look and reached out to our favorite makeup artist, Dee of Swell Beauty. In terms of styling, we wanted to go more the unexpected route to show a different way to style the 16thcolony pieces. For the first look, I styled the Rumours Crop, which I absolutely love with the velvet burnout pattern and sleeve fringe; over a sequin gown and finished with charcoal grey booties. The sequins of the gown just seem to perfect amount of sparkle. I was like a siren crawling out from through the rocks to beckon for the sunset.

This rumours crop top can also be paired with leather bottoms or dark denim and heels or booties for a more casual look.
