Shuck Oyster Bar at the OC Mix in Costa Mesa
Shuck Oyster Bar has the best darn (fresh) oysters inland of the OC coastline; oysters are only day out of water and the chowda wasn't too shabby either. From what I've heard from friends, the grilled cheese is a must-try and is an alternative if you're not keen on seafood; but you're not going to want to go to Shuck without trying the oysters and in-house sauces. I was full after eating the bowl of chowda and 4 oysters.
Oysters are $3 or get a dozen of the Chef's Choice; which is what we ordered to try a variety of oysters. I definitely want to come back to try the Oyster Po-Boy and Lobster Roll, who wants to come with?
Apart of the OC Mix in Costa Mesa, come here any time to enjoy a full meal or oysters and beer or wine (no corkage fee)! Afterwards, grab ice cream or something sweet from within the same communal dining/shopping space.
I came with my family on a Sunday afternoon for Mother's Day and were quickly seated and attended to, although we were missing some drink orders for awhile, the overall experience was great! At night there's a intimate ambiance with the oyster bar and space illuminated by tea lights.
