CSULB's 26th Annual Campus Couture Fashion Show
'Glamping' Computerized Apparel Flat Pattern/ A Class Collection inspired by the newly popular trend of Camping in Luxury Junior Designers present Advanced Apparel Flat Pattern Senior Designers
I love getting to experience new and emerging designers; and what better way to do that than with a university/student fashion show! Cal State University Long Beach's Fashion Merchandising & Design department and student body hosted their 26th annual 'Campus Couture' Fashion Show last Friday at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center on campus. The show took place on a theatre stage, featuring 22 junior and 17 senior designers, as well as the faculty, show student coordinators, and judges. It was fascinating to see the amount of student designers that participated, their overwhelming energy, and of course, the variety of design styles that walked the runway. It was a huge production and I must say it was well organized (there were also 200 volunteers and 50 models involved), fun (not to mention a packed house), and had their main focus on the fashion students and their designs! I liked seeing both formal gown designs as well as the more casual, boho looks. The whirlwind of a show ended with student designers being given awards by the judges. If you want to enjoy budding fashion and just the sheer rawness of seeing student designers' creations go from the classroom to the runway, you need to plan for CSULB's 'Campus Couture' fashion show next year! Great job CSULB!
