I got chills and thrills watching the 40 looks from
Thai Nguyen's 'Follow the Nile' Fall/Winter 2014 walk down the runway at
S Fine Dining in Westminster a couple weeks ago. Models were presented in strong Egyptian-inspired eye makeup, elegant fishtail updos, and in an array of beautifully crafted dresses, jumpers, and gowns; starting in a strong explosion of rich jewel tones to classic black and white; fitting for a Queen of the Nile like the infamous Nefertiti or Cleopatra. I could picture any of the powerful looks clad on a model standing in front of the pyramids of Giza or strolling on the sands alongside the Nile river. I had too many favorite pieces, what are your faves?
Of course, attending a Thai Nguyen show is not complete without me styling in a
Thai Nguyen Collections design myself; I wore a dress from Thai's Spring Summer 14 Collection 'Royal Romance'. Thai Nguyen may sound/look familiar because I
interviewed him here, and also published a style series for the
holidays and
lunar new year!
