Fashion | Stella Proseyn SS14-LA Fashion Council
Stella Proseyn started off Day 1 of the Los Angeles Fashion Council runway program at The Grove with a SS14 collection of muted colors and a pop of coral/navy/blue plaid. Muscle tees and boxy tops were paired with slacks, cuffed shorts, skirts, or a mixture of pant/shorts/skirts.I like the pleating work on the skirts and the last look, the jumper, which was my fave piece. The half pant/short bottoms are not as practical for me as I usually am finite when it comes to pant wearing or short wearing, but the design definitely gives a unique flair. Designer Debbie Talanian founded Stella Proseyn in 2012, and has been creating wearable pieces from inspiration found all around her. "She believes in making clothes that never will be 'out' because they were never 'in'. Talanian did tours as a newspaper journalist and an art gallery director before returning to her first love. Style over fashion." The 2014 collection is about personal exploration; it's about asking questions, then pushing forward without waiting for the answers; it's about doubting everything but yourself."
