Visiting New York City Day 2 - Winter 2012 Travel Diary
The second day of our NYC trip started with taking a stroll over to Levain Bakery. We picked up their famous chocolate chip cookies, bomboloncinis (Italian donuts), brioches, and coffees. We were going to enjoy our bakery delights in Central Park, but decided to cozy up in the bakery instead.
After finishing breakfast, we walked to Central Park and took tons of photos; took a taxi to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and spent a good 3 hours roaming around the various exhibits and galleries filled with magnificent sculptures, paintings, and other decorative arts; got our grub on at Shake Shack; was stunned by all of the lights and hustle and bustle of Times Square; savored a red velvet cupcake from Magnolia Bakery; enjoyed the merriment of ice skaters and winter fun at Rockefeller Center; fancied over the delightfully wrapped macarons and confections at Bouchon Bakery; picked up batteries to bring my camera back to life; took a power nap at our hotel; relished in the yummy goodness of Momofuku Noodle Bar; started the night with wine and beer at The Immigrant; a quick stop for Belgian Fries & delectable dipping at Pommes Frites; and ended with dancing and shenanigans at Lit Lounge!
I would say it was quite the productive day of sightseeing and eating!
