Precious Hands is a company that strives to help local Guatemalan artisans to "make an honest living and prosper by helping them to produce, market and sell their handmade crafts to world-wide markets".I found these gorgeous woven tote bags on Planet Blue (for only $42), and I was instantly intrigued by the workmanship. Each bag was most likely made from one-of-a-kind second-hand tradition Mayan blouses and skirts, and corresponding belts as the bag's straps. The history from which these bags were made is so rich and exciting! And, Precious Hands not only offers bags, but also an assortment of intricate jewelry, belts, scarves, baskets, ceramics, wood items, and more!
