{Downtown LA Artwalk}

My friend Hanh and I made our way up to the Downtown LA Artwalk last Thursday. This art explosion/extravaganza occurs the 2nd Thursday every month from 2nd-9th street in downtown Los Angeles. Artists open up their galleries for viewing; numerous historical buildings are filled with artists, displaying and selling their masterpieces and vendors offering a variety of handmade and unique items; and there is a "plethora of art related events and openings, activities, and special programming that take place all over downtown," not to mention the overabundance of food trucks to satisfy every hungry craving! The night we went, there were just TOO many people, but I was glad that I got to experience the artwalk; I mean there were portraits being painted right on the sidewalk, I just would have preferred to have more of a leisurely street walk instead of having to be squished between pedestrians. I did get to pick up this nifty feather clip for my hair, which I LOVE, and pretty much wear every day!
Note to prospective artwalk-ers....get there at least before 6pm to get street or lot parking(bring at least $20 in cash for parking), and that will give you enough time to enjoy and take in all that the artwalk has to offer!
