Skincare Saturday | Seacret
My college friend Bob and his girlfriend Sarah invited me to his home for a Seacret SPA Party. Seacret products are made from natural mineral salts and mineral-rich mud from the Dead Sea, and I was able to try a majority of the facial care and skin care line.
I first used a Pomegranate Salt Scrub to wash my hands, and immediately took a liking to the scent; although the scrub was rough (it's a given), the results gave me very, and I mean VERY smooth and soft hands! I couldn't stop rubbing my hands together. I could only imagine how exfoliating the scrub would be for my dancer feet.
I then was seated with the other ladies taking part in the party and tried a smidge of Body Lotion (Milk & Honey), Foot Cream with Tea Tree Oil, Hand Cream with Shea Butter, Men's Aftershave Balm, and just took a look at the Purifying Peeling Milk w/Apricot Seeds. I liked the scents of the body lotion and foot cream but the product itself did not convince me to want to purchase it since I already have countless Aveeno, Neutrogena, and Vaseline lotions. If you are looking for a new yummy lotion or body cream I would suggest any of the 3 scents, they are just fragrant enough.
The SPA party got started when we were instructed to apply the Facial Cleansing Milk to 1/2 of our face (so that we could later compare) which was very gentle and easy to apply. After the cleansing milk was washed off, we wiped our face with the Mineral-Rich Refining Toner, and finished with the Balancing Facial Serum. After cleansing and moisturizing, my face (well, half of my face) did feel a slight stinging sensation, but not to the point that it was irritating. I don't usually wash my face at night, but I'll use makeup remover wipes if needed, then Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Toner, and finish with Olay's Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum (Fragrance-Free). In comparison to my personal facial care regiment, I would stick to what I'm already doing. I've been using the same products for the last 6 months and I have seen the difference and always feel refreshed, cleansed, and hydrated. As far as exfoliating my skin, I receive microdermabrasians every 2 weeks to remove the top layer of my skin and that procedure has proven to leave my skin radiant within 24 hours.
We tried the Mineral-Rich Peeling Gel which is meant to gently exfoliate the skin. We applied it to our forearms and one of the girls applied it on top of her tattoo to brighten up the color (it did slightly darken which is great for her tattoo, you can see above). I liked the result of the exfoliation, but didn't particularly take a liking to the texture that it leaves after having rubbed the gel on my skin; it started to ball up like wet tissue paper.
After assessing what type of skin we all had, I'm 'combo'; we applied mud masks to half of our face. The girls with combo skin used the Mineral-Rich Clarifying Mud Masks, and oily skin used the M4 Mineral-Rich Clarifying Mud Mask. The difference between the two? the M4 uses a magnet to remove because by doing so it activates the iron element within the mud and is meant to relax the skin. It was fun actually applying the mud mask, and something I had never gotten done at a spa or on my own. The mask left our skin smooth and soft!
My personal suggestions?
